Text-message opt-in
Last updated: September 21, 2026
This page shows exactly how a person consents to receive text messages from DamnSuper, for anyone who needs to see it without a DamnSuper account — including the carrier and aggregator reviewers who assess our messaging campaign. DamnSuper is operated by Damn Super Inc.
Who can opt in
DamnSuper is not open to the public. Tenants, and the building superintendents who handle their repairs, are invited to private accounts by the property-management company that runs the building, and sign in at www.damnsuper.ai. On first sign-in, before using the app, everyone agrees to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy with their own unticked checkbox — a separate step from text-message consent, which nobody is asked for there. There is no public sign-up form and no purchased list. The screen below is the only way a number is ever enrolled — there is no keyword anyone can text to sign up, and no number is added from any other source.
The one exception is not an exception to that rule. Someone who opted in on that screen and later replied STOP can reply START, YES, or UNSTOP to resume — the standard carrier keywords, which we honour as required. Those keywords restore a consent that was already given here; they cannot create one, and a number that never opted in on the screen below receives nothing by texting them.
Where the opt-in lives
Once signed in, a person opens Profile → Text updates. This is what they see. It is the same component this page renders — not a screenshot of it — so it always shows the current wording. The Mobile number field above the card is where the number texts go to is entered, on that same screen. Opting in takes two deliberate actions: turning the switch on opens a confirm step showing that number, and nothing is saved until they press Turn on text updates.
Your details
Text updates
Get text updates from DamnSuper about your repair requests — when a visit is scheduled, changed, or completed. Up to 30 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Privacy Policy and Terms.
Everything above is operable and writes nothing; there is no account behind this page, so the number starts as an example. Type a number, turn the switch on, and press the button to see each step exactly as a tenant does.
What happens after they opt in
They receive a confirmation text at that number: “DamnSuper Repair Updates: You are now opted-in. Up to 30 msgs/mo about your repair requests. Msg&data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP. To opt out, reply STOP.” After that, every message begins with DamnSuper: and ends with Reply STOP to opt out.
Text updates are not switched on yet; this program is registered before the first message is sent. Until they are, turning the switch on shows the line you will see above, which says so plainly — nobody who opts in is left waiting for a text that is not coming.
What that screen guarantees
- The number is the person’s own, typed into the Mobile number field on the same screen. No number is entered for anyone, and none is imported from anywhere.
- Off by default, never pre-checked. The stored value defaults to off, and nothing turns it on but the person themselves, by pressing the confirm button.
- Never required. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of creating an account, filing a repair request, or getting a repair. Nothing in the product is gated on it.
- Reversible at any time — one flip of the same switch, or replying STOP to any message. Opting out never takes more effort than opting in.
The program
- Program name: DamnSuper Repair Updates.
- What we send: transactional and informational updates about repair requests. Tenants are told when a request they filed has been passed to building staff, when a visit is proposed, confirmed, rescheduled, or completed, and when its status changes. Superintendents receive the repair requests assigned to them and changes to their visits. Messages may include a link to the request on damnsuper.ai. No marketing or promotional messages are sent on this program.
- Message frequency: up to 30 messages per month, varying with activity on the requests a person filed or is working on.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or email support@damnsuper.ai.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Messages are sent in each person’s own preferred language, the same language their app is displayed in.
